FoodHutz is a United Kingdom-based online food ordering and delivery platform founded in April 2023 by Temmy Adetokunbo in South West London. The platform connects customers with local restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, chefs and caterers for food delivery, click-and-collect and dine-in reservations across the UK and Nigeria.
FoodHutz was founded in April 2023 by Temmy Adetokunbo in South West London. The idea was born from a personal experience: Temmy and a friend were unable to find Nigerian food for delivery in their area on a Friday evening, despite the cuisine being a staple of the local community. Recognising the gap between authentic local food culture and what mainstream delivery platforms offered, he launched FoodHutz to bridge that divide.
The platform launched with a focus on South West London — initially covering Clapham, Brixton, Tooting, Balham, Streatham, Wandsworth and Chelsea — before expanding to Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol and other UK cities. FoodHutz also launched operations in Lagos, Nigeria, covering Victoria Island, Lekki, Ajah, Ikoyi, Surulere, Yaba, Ikeja and more than 30 Lagos areas.
Unlike larger international platforms, FoodHutz specialises in hyperlocal delivery, partnering with independently owned restaurants, local caterers, grocery stores and pharmacies. The platform has a particular focus on Nigerian, African and Caribbean cuisines — communities historically underserved by mainstream food delivery services.
In January 2024, FoodHutz launched restaurant table reservations — making it the first and only platform in both the UK and Nigeria to offer food delivery AND dine-in reservations in a single app. While competitors like Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats are delivery-only, and OpenTable and TheFork are reservations-only, FoodHutz uniquely bridges both experiences for customers and restaurant partners alike.
In January 2024, FoodHutz became the first and only platform in the UK and Nigeria to combine food delivery and restaurant table reservations in a single app. Customers can now order food to their door or book a table at the same restaurant — all without leaving FoodHutz.
